COLONIAL BAPTIST CHURCH
ROGERS, ARKANSAS

I was up at 4:00 this morning, had my quiet time, did 3 miles on the treadmill, and fixed a light breakfast. I always pack the night before so I am ready for the next day’s trip. I loaded the car this morning and then watched a DVR of the West Virginia-Marshall NCAA football game. WOW! What a finish! I thought for  sure that Marshall was going to pull this one out. This is the 40th anniversary of the terrible plane crash that killed the entire Marshall football time!
Assistant Pastor and Mrs. Bob Queen drove me to the Shreveport airport this morning. They picked me up at 7:45 and when I arrived at the airport they had cancelled the flight. So, I was placed on the 11:05 flight to DFW. I arrived at the DFW airport and had to wait for 2 1/2 hours for the next flight. I arrived at the Fayetteville, Arkansas, airport at 3:30.
I was taken to the motel and Pastor Claud Slate picked me up and we looked at some property he was interested in and then we went to the church for his ANNUAL MEN’S FREE BANQUET. This is the time they review the past year and prepare for an ANNUAL FAITH OFFERING for the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The men were joking by telling the new men that this is the most expensive FREE BANQUET they would ever attend! Ha! After a nice catered meal I spoke to the men and encouraged them to give sacrificially. A church survives on their offering plate money and succeeds on the above offering plate money. The progress that is made is made with the sacrificial giving of God’s people.
Pastor Slate gave me his truck to drive this week end and so after the banquet I drove myself to the MAINSTAY MOTEL. I just finished making phone calls to my converts and reminding them about Sunday school in the morning. I have 3 converts lined up in 3 different churches. GOTTA LOVE SOUL WINNING!
