What a surprise today when I asked Mrs. Gray if she felt up to going with me to Leesburg, Texas, to preach for our friend Pastor David Jackson she said to me she felt half way decent. So, we took some extra time helping her to ready herself and off we went to preach. The last time she was in church was on March 1, 2009. This was a blessing to say the least. She told me that if I did a good job today she might come back to hear me preach again! PRESSURE! Ha!
When we arrived we met a missionary couple who were presenting their work to the dear people of LEESBURG BAPTIST CHURCH. Missionary Carl Johnson with his wife Cindy, sons Andrew, Luke, and daughter Carol Ann. They are on their way to minister to the deaf of Brazil.
What a surprise to find out that Mrs. Johnson is the daughter of Tom Wing an Assistant Pastor for our friend Dr. Richard Wallace of Lewisville, Texas. The great thing about this is the fact that Mrs. Gray took Tom and his younger brother Jim to school with our children to the Hammond Baptist Schools every morning. Now to see this young lady being a help meet to her dear husband thrilled both of us. God bless these missionaries! They are all heroes to Mrs. Gray and myself! GOTTA LOVE SERVING THE LORD!
