SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES

Pastor Landers and Gavin Clark

This morning I had the honor of preaching for one of our TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE graduates Pastor Dexter Landers Jr.  In between Sunday school and the morning preaching service Pastor introduced to me his first convert since becoming pastor of the MOUNT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH four years ago. I met his dear wife and family also after the morning service!  God gave us 5 who trusted Christ and 2 who followed the Lord in baptism! The building was full! GOTTA LOVE SOUL WINNING!
There was an unusual request by Pastor Landers for me. He asked me to teach and preach on the subject of the KING JAMES BIBLE for the entire conference.  I asked if that is what he was sure he wanted and he said yes! This morning in Sunday school I taught my lesson “WHERE DID THE WORD OF GOD COME FROM!”  In the morning preaching service I preached my sermon “WHY DO WE NEED A PERFECT, PRESERVED, & INSPIRED WORD OF GOD?” Tonight I plan on preaching my sermon, “THE TWO EDGED SWORD BATHED IN HEAVEN.”
WHEY DO WE NEED A PERFECT, PRESERVED, & INSPIRED WORD OF GOD?
2 THOUGHTS
     1) Verbal Inspiration-an every WORD Bible whose WORDS or inspired
     2) Plenary Inspiration-a complete canon of the WORDS of God which are inspired
2 VEHICLES
    1) Faith-I was saved through faith & choose to trust the inspiration of the WORDS by faith
    2) Intellect-There is a difference between intellect and knowledge
2 SIDES
    1) Real-II Corinthians 2:17-One Bible
    2) Counterfeit- II Corinthians 11:13-15; Revelation 19:2-Many Bibles
2) 2 SOURCES
    1) Heaven – Antioch of Syria-Source of our ONE BIBLE
    2) Hell – Alexandria of Egypt-Source of all FALSE BIBLES
WHY DO WE NEED A PERFECT, PRESERVED, & INSPIRED BIBLE?
   1) To preach (II Timothy 4:2)
   2) To fight spiritual battles (Ephesians 6:17)
   3) To know the will of God (Psalm 119:105)
   4) To have prayers answered (John 15:7)
   5) To grow (Matthew 4:4; I Peter 2:2; Hebrews 5:2-10)
   6) To go soul winning (Psalm 126:5-6; Luke 8:11)
   7) To be saved from going to Hell (I Peter 1:23)
