ARE YOU REACHING YOUR POTENTIAL?

REACHING ONES POTENTIAL

Proverbs 10:9, “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely:
but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”

Joshua 1:8, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
All of us are becoming more of
what we are everyday we live. Man cannot wait to become what he wants to be and
knows he should be. What we admire in others can be what we admire about
ourselves. Tomorrow will be nothing more than an amplification of today. Time
always enhances and magnifies and makes evident to others the real you.
Any of us can change our tomorrow
if we will change our today. God desires good success for every one of his
creatures. Success is not a bad word if it is “good success.” It is a Biblical word, but when it is not
within Biblical boundaries it can be bad success and become disastrous. Good success would be the reaching
of ones potential and the doing of God’s will with that potential.
We make success out of what God
gives us. Thus, God sets the laws of good success to obey, which will guarantee good success within the will of God. However, it is imperative we realize that
defeats are a better ingredient for success than victories. Victories are
deceptive because they tend to cause one to rely on us and ours instead of
dependence upon God.
Take a good look at yourself through the eyes of your parents
Proverbs 10:1, “The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh
a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.”
The key word here is the word
“perception.” When we give off a perception it is more of a factor than the
reality that exists. Out of the mouth proceeds the contents of the heart is a
Scriptural truth. The wicked man hardeth his face is still in the Bible. Thus,
we may not even realize there exists something deep inside of each of us that
is carnal in nature and dominating in nature.  Sometimes it is more than we would like to admit
and it can only be dealt with when we confront ourselves with ourselves through the eyes of parents or authorities.
Understand and accept God’s economy
Proverbs 10:2-3, “Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but
righteousness delivereth from death. The LORD will not suffer the soul of the
righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.”
“Wickedness” is missing the mark
and missing the will of God. “Righteousness” is being right on target and doing
the will of God. There is no way a leader can exist without “righteousness.
Look at the third world countries
and their lack economically and you can quickly equate that to the spiritual
lacking that resides in those countries. The leader who ignores and does not
accept God’s economy will hurt and do damage to those who follow such leaders. God
spiritual economy is based on “righteousness.”
The more diligent you become today the more good success you will have
tomorrow
Proverbs 10:4-5, “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack
hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. He that gathereth in summer is
a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.”
The diligent person is a person
of detail. The little things done well always result in a richer life.
Preparedness is essential to anyone’s tomorrow. Today is the future we looked
to yesterday. Tomorrow is nothing more than a reflection of today.
Good success comes to the man who balances the scales of life
Proverbs 10:6-7, “Blessings are upon the head of the just:
but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the just is
blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.”
A just man is one who is balanced
on the sin issue with God because of the payment of the Son of God for our sin.
A just man pays his debts in order to be balanced. It bothers the just man when
things are not balanced because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the
body of the believer. All of us owe debts. No one is a self made man. I owe Dr.
Jack Hyles, Dr. John R. Rice, Dr. Russell Anderson, and Pastor Marvin Owens.
Who do you owe?
Tomorrow’s confidence is a by-product of today’s diligence
Confidence allows one to take
risks in life. When a man or woman is filled with Scriptural principles and
yielded to the Holy Spirit then life’s decisions are not made by the man or
woman but rather by the principles and the person of the Holy Spirit. No pain
no gain! How about no pain today no gain tomorrow! Right confidence comes from
right living, which is found in the foundation of Scripture and Spirit-filled
lives.
A successful man with good success listens more than the talks
God gave you two ears and one
tongue for a reason. It is much wiser to listen twice as much as you speak. The
greatest ability is teachability. When you are teachable you are reachable. No one is a self-made man or self-made woman.
The good success of a person in life is found in being in the will of God and that
is why God instructs the younger men to listen to the older men. He asks the
younger women to listen to the older women. Knowledge is wealth!

Laboring men have good success
Proverbs 10:16, “The labour of the righteous tendeth to
life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
The ones who inherit wealth
usually lose that wealth. Those who earn wealth tend to be more conservative
with their wealth. What is the difference? The laboring factor is the
difference. The more investment the more concern. The laboring individual is the
one who considers the investment.
Sustained good success comes from sustained righteousness
The reaching of ones potential
within the will of God produces blessings. However, the sustaining of the
blessings depends upon the sustained righteousness that produced the blessings
of God in the first place.

God made a statement about the
blessings upon Solomon. God said, “If he be constant,” he would continue to
bless Solomon. The same is true for any of God’s children. The consistent life
is an invitation for God to continue blessing.
