Cost Consciousness I. Vote in an annual budget. Base the budget on last years figures. Hire someone who’s loyal to do the bookkeeping. Remind folks the budget says “yes” or “no” not the bookkeeper. Get bids on anything above $100. Use a Purchase Order system. Use percentages in financial report.
Cost Consciousness II. Let percentages warn. Maximum 10-15% utilities, 20-25% debt retirement, 35-40% administration. The less you spend the more you have to get the gospel out. Do not let students come free to your schools. Let the schools pay a percentage of the debt retirement. Live on 80%.
