This morning I was up at 5:30, had my quiet time, 3 miles on the treadmill, and ate a light breakfast. I then showered, dressed, and worked on some new chapters. I then reviewed the Sunday school lesson on “WHO DO I LISTEN TO” and on my sermon “WHO SHALL BE DAMNED?” When I went down stairs the pastor was following up on a lady employee of the motel who is coming to the service tonight. He then drove me to the church. This dear church is 34 years old and was founded by my good friend of many years Dr. Dean Miller. They have hosted a ROUND UP SUNDAY for every year of those 34 years and today was their ROUND UP SUNDAY. There were folks every where dressed up in western clothes.
When the pastor pulled up into the parking lot I looked up and there was the Rife family from Pastor Seulean’s church in Longmont, Colorado, standing in the parking lot. They are celebrating their wedding anniversary and they got away for a few days. These are some of my favorite people in the whole world. When I have the honor of preaching for Pastor Seulean they are my hosts for the week. They have treated me like a king through out these many years. They are great personal soul winners!
At the invitation today there were 27 saved, 15 professions, and 2 baptized. The spirit was great and the music was excellent. Dr. Miller leaned over and pointed out a dear 72 year old lady who trusted Christ and he mentioned how unusual that is for someone of that age to trust Christ. The altar call was very organized and the buildings were full of dear people. His people worked extra hard for today and it was obvious.
Now I am back at the motel wondering how the COWBOYS are doing against the TEXANS! I have not seen any thing on the TV yet. “Please Lord they are supposed to be your favorite team!” GOTTA LOVE FOOTBALL! Ha!
