EVANGELIST MONTE WATTS GOES TO HEAVEN

Dr. Monte Watts
Early Thursday morning  our dear friend Dr. Monte Watts went home to be with the LORD at age 60. He was one of the gentlest giants of the faith I have ever known.

I have relived with my wife today our first meeting at his home church in Ravenna, Ohio, where he served faithfully as an Assistant Pastor. I recall when he enrolled in Bible College, his graduation, and his beginning of the FOUNDATION CONFERENCES.  He traveled and preached in 80 to 100 churches every year  for almost three decades and was a man of faith. He never let his needs be known and God took care of every need.  It was amazing!

I have preached numerous times each year with him, went soul winning with him, prayed with him, extensive conversations about Scriptures, and wept with him.  We were together in Greenville, Ohio, when Dr. Jack Hyles went home to be with the LORD.  I feel the same way today about the home going of Dr. Monte Watts. He will be missed. Our loss, but Heaven’s gain!

He stood tall in the saddle for old time religion. He was an apologist when it came to the fundamentals of the faith. He never wavered when the battle broke out over the preserved inspiration of the King James Bible and gently, but firmly, stood God’s ground! “My dear brother I love you and will honor your memory by fighting on for truth!”

The funeral arrangements have been set. The service will be held at the Bible Baptist Church of Highland, IN., Wednesday December 28, 2011. Pastor Poole’s number is 219-838-1668 if you wish to speak with him. Viewing will be from 3 to 8 on Tuesday the 27th.

This is just a suggestion, but I would think Mrs. Jan Watts would need money more than flowers. Her address is…

I loved traveling with him, eating at Cracker Barrel with him, praying with him, soul winning with him, joking with him, encouraging preachers with him, and watching the calming affect he had with his demeanor. He will be missed! GOTTA LOVE OLD TIME SERVANTS OF GOD!
