Pastor Randy Ralstin
I had the honor of preaching for my dear friend Pastor Randy Ralstin who started the LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST CHURCH of Reno, NV.   This is their 25th Anniversary and God has and is blessing them with a great soul winning church.  This past week 31 trusted Christ and 12 more trusted Christ on Sunday.  The building was full and the spirit was great.

I taught my Sunday school lesson on “FORGIVENESS” and preached my sermon “YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN” on Sunday.  12 trusted Christ and it was a great LORD’S day.

I will be preaching tonight at 6:30 for a special service.  If you are in the area please take time to be in attendance.  Pastor Ralstin is a very gracious man of God and you will enjoy the music and the people.

I preached last night my sermon “I HAVE FALLEN AND I CAN GET BACK UP!”  I have a concern that we go after the fallen to bring them to Christ and then when they fall again we do not have the same concerns and passion about helping them like we exhibited the first time we reached out to them.

Our churches are to be soul winning churches which simply means we are to reach the fallen.  However, I wonder if we understand the Biblical concept of “restoration.”  After they trust Christ we still have a responsibility to care for them as well.

Luke 15:10, “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

The Scripture does not say whether this person who is repenting is lost or saved.  Apparently God views both in the same light.  If a lost man repents and turns to Christ there is rejoicing in Heaven.  Also, if a wayward saved man repents and turns to Christ there is also rejoicing in Heaven.  We likewise should rejoice over both who repent and return.

Psalm 37:24, “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.”

Proverbs 24:16, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”

Some fall because of what they do, some fall because of what others do, while some falls are SEEN and other falls are NOT SEEN.  The truth is we are all guilty of a fall in one way or another.

  • The just man does fall
  • The just man falls many times
  • The just man gets back up (Two helpers found in the Holy Spirit, our advocate, and Galatians 6:1 says through the aid of a spiritual person)
  • The just man develops a habit of getting back up
  • The just man is perfected by both falling and getting back up
  • The just man does not blame others
  • The just man ends up on his feet

MAY I ASK A PROVOKING QUESTION?

Would you allow Jack Schaap to attend or join your church?  I am not asking the question about pastoring, just merely wondering if he could attend or join? I wonder if we really are interested in reaching the fallen?

Would you allow David Hyles to attend or join your church?  I am not suggesting filling a pulpit, rather I am asking would you let him attend or join? I am wondering if we really believe in reaching the fallen?

We love it when the fallen trust Christ, are baptized, join, tithe, and get involved because it benefits our church.  However, what if there is no benefit?  What if there is a stigma? What if there are church members who would leave because they attended?  Can God really trust us with honest to goodness revival?

JUST A THOUGHT!
