FOUR ALLELUIAS

ALLELUIA

“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia:for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth”(Revelation 19:1-6).

If you read Revelation chapter nineteen even casually you will notice that four times the word “Alleluia” is found. That word can be defined as “Praise ye Jah” or “Praise ye Jehovah” or “Praise ye the Lord.”

There are four times this word is used in this chapter. One “Alleluia” is “Alleluia Christ saveth,” another is “Alleluia Christ keepeth,” another is “Alleluia Christ judgeth,” and finally “Alleluia Christ reigneth.”

ALLELUIA CHRIST SAVETH

In Revelation ninenteen God singles out these four things for which many voices said “Alleluia.” Could it be that maybe those are four things for which God’s children ought to praise God the most? Maybe we ought to praise God and shout most for the fact “Alleluia Christ saveth”. Thank God He does and He is still in the saving business.

Christ saveth, alleluia, no one has to go to Hell, you can go to Heaven, your sins can be forgiven, your name can be written down in Heaven, and all because alleluia Christ saveth! Please understand that when Christ saves He does it perfectly and permanently.

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1 John 5:12).

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31).

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3-5).

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin” (Romans 3:20).

“Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:22).

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:9,10,13).

ALLELUIA CHRIST KEEPETH

Alleluia, the salvation that you receive you will never lose because of the fact Christ keepeth! Alleluia, the saved are saved forever! They are as saved as Jesus is the Son of God. The saved are as good as being in Heaven as if you were already there! So, the multitude sang, “Alleluia Christ saveth and Alleluia Christ keepeth.”

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 24). WOW! He is not only able to take us to Heaven but He promises to present us to our Heavenly Father as “faultless…with exceeding joy”. Can you believe that?

“Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:5). We are not kept by our power but by His power. This was all accomplished by feeble and frail man placing his faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of God’s only Son Jesus Christ, which was the only acceptable payment for man’s sin. Amazing!

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them our of my Father’s hand” (John 10:27-29).

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:4-5).

“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: I whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13).

ALLELUIA CHRIST JUDGETH

Alleluia Christ will reward His own, recognize His own, and exalt His own. No one will see all that you do for God but God’s Son does and there will be a Judgment Seat of Christ. Alleluia Christ saveth, Christ keepeth, and alleluia Christ judgeth.

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, had,\ stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire” (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).

If you read these Scriptures carefully you will see another judgment. I think maybe that the angels who sang the next verse had a little impish grin on their face because this also meant vindication! All of us who are saved will be glad when the liberal preachers are proved wrong, the pussy footers are exposed, and when the old time religion is proved to be the only true religion. Alleluia Christ saveth, alleluia Christ keepeth, and alleluia Christ judgeth.

ALLELUIA CHRIST REIGNETH

The Lord God Omnipotent reigneth. The nation Judah was ruled by a godly king name Uzziah. He was a close friend to the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah was given an unenviable task of pronouncing the judgment upon Judah if they did not turn to God. Isaiah spoke of the Babylonian Empire coming and destroying the nation Judah. One day this godly king, who was a close friend to God’s man Isaiah, died. Uzziah died and Isaiah thought everything was going to end for sure with Uzziah’s death. The man of God thought all was lost for the nation Israel.

However, God decided to show Isaiah something! God opened up Heaven and Isaiah said, “I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne.” Then he said, “The Lord was high and holy and lifted up…his train filled the temple…they were singing holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty…the whole earth was full of his glory.”

In the darkest moment of Isaiah’s life God simply pulled back the curtain of Heaven and told him to look up and Isaiah saw the Lord on His throne! What a sight! The throne on earth was empty but the throne in Heaven was still filled. King Uzziah died but our God never dies or ages! The one who sat on the throne of Judah could die and die he did but God was showing Isaiah there is another throne and God is on that throne forever.

One thing, in my humble opinion, that has hurt the cause of Christ in our day is the over occupation or over indulgence with whose on the earthly throne instead of Who is on the Heavenly throne. It doesn’t matter as much who sits in the White House as long as God is on His throne. In the last two decades we have become so enthralled with politics that we have forgotten that this world is not my home, I’m just a passing through! We are so enraptured and so excited about attracting the attention of those on an earthly fthrone that we have forgotten about our Lord who seats on His Heavenly throne.

Hey, alleluia Christ reigneth, Christ ruleth, Christ seateth on His throne, the Lord God Almighty reigneth, and God wanted Isaiah to know that the Lord Omnipotent reigneth. God was in essence saying to His man, “Isaiah, it looks pretty dark down on earth but let me show you who the boss is and whose in control. Isaiah, your having trouble down there let me show you who is in charge up here. Isaiah the King is still alive, He is still on His throne, and He is still in power. So, quit worrying about a piece of clay not being on the earthly throne and be thankful that deity is on Heaven’s throne.”

Alleluia, the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth! Around the throne are living creatures singing, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of host.” The whole earth is full of His glory and His train fills the temple and he is high and holy and lifted up!

Isaiah saw what many of us need to see in this day and time! If you have it tough quit moaning, complaining, griping, murmuring, and badmouthing because alleluia the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth. If you are discouraged lift up your eyes and look into Heaven and shout, “Alleluia, the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth.”

If there is anything that should be shouted out by a child of God is alleluia Christ saveth, alleluia Christ keepeth, alleluia Christ judgeth, and alleluia Christ reigneth. All of the children of God should be praising God because of this! Every once in a while a pastor ought to come to the people of God and tell them God is still on His throne in Heaven. We are so prone to look down and to think negatively, expect the worst, looking at the possibility of bad things, but God said to Isaiah, “You are heart broken, bereaved, down, and concerned, but look up here Isaiah.”

John was a prisoner of Rome. He was exiled on an island named Patmos. The water of the Aegean Sea separated him from all that he loved and those that loved him. There he is an aged John on the Aisle of Patmos alone in exile. Look at him living with his memories; memories of when he left and followed Jesus. He recalls Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and memories of the mountain, off of the shores of the Sea of Galilee near Capernaum, where Jesus had 5,000 people following Him. It was time to eat and Jesus took a little lad’s lunch and fed the 5,000 men.

He had memories of Jesus reaching out and raising the dead, healing the sick, opening blind eyes, causing the mute to speak, and the lame to leap like a hart. He had memories of Jesus and all that He did! WOW, what memories he had as he languished on this lonely Aisle. He possessed memories of the great Pentecost where 3,000 people were saved, the prayer meeting in the upper room, the blessings of God on the New Testament church of Jerusalem, and with those memories he is on the Aisle of Patmos all alone!

God decided to open up Heaven and encourage John! What did John see? He sees God’s throne! He picks up his pen and writes “Alleluia the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” AMEN! John sees while on the Aisle of Patmos the rapture of the saints. He writes in chapter 4 about the saints being caught up to meet the Lord in the air. John sees and writes about the Marriage of the Lamb, the Marriage Supper, and the Judgment Seat of Christ. John looks up and God shows him a panorama of the future and John sees the saints of God being crowned. He sees the saints of God taking off their crowns and hurling those crowns at Jesus’ feet and saying, “Thou art worthy oh Lord to receive honor and power and majesty and glory.”

God allows John to see in chapter 5 where the book is opened and the deed to earth is given to Jesus so He can become King of all the earth. Then John sees in chapters 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 the tribulation period and all dealing with the middle part of Revelation he records the awful seven-year tribulation period and shouts because he will not be there. Alleluia the Lord God Almighty reigneth!

John on the Aisle of Patmos all alone yet God opens up the windows of Heaven and shows him the future. Then John sees and records in Revelation chapter 18 the destruction of the Roman Catholic Church and all of her Protestant children.

Then in chapter 19 sees and records Jesus coming back to earth again. He sees Jesus establishing a kingdom on earth. He sees and= records the saints of God coming back on white horses with Jesus and no doubt John visualizes himself coming back with Jesus to rule and reign for one thousand years. John sees and records these saints back with Jesus and all dressed in dress whites.

John sees Jesus coming back and with the spirit of His mouth and the brightness of His coming put down the Anti-Christ. John sees Russia, Germany, Iran, Egypt, China, and Japan defeated in war. The Western powers are defeated and John sees Jesus walking up the stairs of Mount Zion to become King of all the earth and John shouts, “Alleluia the Lord God Almighty reigneth.”

What was God doing? God was showing a discouraged old preacher in exile that God is still on His throne! AMEN! Well somebody shout Amen!

Every year the Roman citizen was required to appear at an altar dedicated to Caesar. He had to take a pinch of incense and drop that on=the altar and say with a loud voice, “Caesar is lord!” The reason John was on Patmos was because when he went to that altar and they asked him to take a pinch of incense, drop it on the altar, and declare with a loud voice that Caesar is lord. Instead of saying that he shouted, “Jesus is Lord!”

He was then sent into exile to the Aisle of Patmos. He was Lonely and forsaken in exile and an enemy of the Roman Empire.  He was a captive and a prisoner of the Roman Empire and God said, “John look up here and let me show you something!” John like Isaiah of old looked up and there was the throne of God occupied. Alleluia the Lord God Almighty reigneth.

May I say to you who are reading this chapter and are discouraged, defeated, and heavy hearted, broken hearted, and with a broken life look up! God is still on His throne! Alleluia the Lord God Almighty reigneth!

Alleluia Christ saveth, Christ keepeth, Christ judgeth, and Christ reigneth! The Lord reigns if you are well, sick, rich, poor, laughing, or weeping! God is on His throne at this very moment! God was on His throne when Joseph sat next to the king of Egypt, when he was put into prison, and when Paul and Silas were in jail and when the earthquake released them. After the earthquake Paul and Silas refused to leave. The people were scared and told them to go and leave, but Paul said when you put us in here you had a parade and made a spectacle of us. Now, if you want us to leave we will leave with another parade. Alleluia the Lord God Almighty reigneth!

God not only reigned when Paul was in jail but when Paul was led to the guillotine at Rome and the soldiers were coming for him. Alleluia the Lord God Almighty reigneth!

God was on His throne when John the Baptist was in the wilderness saying, “Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.” However, God was still on the throne when John the Baptist was the object of beheading at the hands of wicked Herod.

God was on His throne when Job sat on top of the world, but alleluia God was still on His throne when Job lost his house, sheep, donkeys, children, health, and Job testified, “Thou he slay me yet will I trust him.” Why, Job said, “I know that my redeemer liveth.”

God was on His throne when Elijah prayed down fire from Heaven and alleluia God was still on His throne when Elijah had run from Jezebel being afraid of his very life.

God was on His throne when Thomas in the upper room reached out and saw the wounds of Jesus and said, “My Lord and my God.” However, alleluia God was still on His throne when Thomas was martyred in the land of India.

God was on His throne when Peter stood on Pentecost and 3,000 people were saved and baptized and alleluia God was still on His throne when Peter was crucified upside down. Alleluia Christ saveth, keepeth, judgeth, and reigneth!

Hey child of God the devil is not in control of this world! The devil can do nothing to us without God allowing it to occur. Isaiah why are you so downcast because an earthly throne is vacated. Hey Isaiah lift up your eyes and look at the Heavenly throne. Alleluia Christ reigneth!

OBSERVATIONS

· Nothing can happen to a child of God that God does not allow
· God allows it knowing the end from the beginning
· God will only allow it to happen to us because it is for our good
· Finite flesh must trust infinite deity
· This world is not my final home
